Linfield University will graduate 397 students during its official Commencement 10 a.m. Sunday, May 28 on the Commencement Green; there are multiple celebrations and ceremonies held in the run-up. Unless otherwise noted, all events are held on the McMinnville campus and open to the community; see the full list of 2023 Commencement events.
Wednesday, May 24
- The Nursing Student Toast at 4 p.m. in Building 2 foyer. Hear toasts from Dean Paul Smith, student leaders and anyone who feels so moved. No regalia required. (Portland)
Thursday, May 25
- The McMinnville Senior Toast at 4 p.m. on W.M. Keck Science Center patio. Hear toasts selected by the student speaker committee. No regalia required.
Friday, May 26
- Athletic Stole Ceremony at 11 a.m. in Ted Wilson Gymnasium. Invitation only. Recognize Linfield’s graduating student-athletes. Casual dress recommended
Saturday, May 27
- Baccalaureate at 2 p.m. in Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium. Baccalaureate is rooted in religious traditions but will draw from a variety of faith traditions. Open to everyone. Faculty and graduates are asked to wear their regalia.
- Senior Awards at 3:30 p.m. in Ted Wilson Gymnasium. Select graduating seniors will be honored with various departmental or leadership awards. Business casual attire.
Sunday, May 28
- Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Oak Grove, with neurosurgeon and Linfield alumnus Dr. Seth Oliveria ’01 as commencement speaker. No tickets required and all are welcome. Read more information, including timelines for graduates, here.
- Pinning Ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Oak Grove. A special ceremony to recognize our graduating nursing students. Learn more about the history and significance of the ceremony here.
