Linfield University’s annual giving day, dubbed “One Wild Day,” will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, and runs through noon on Thursday, May 4. This yearly tradition invites all members of the Linfield community — including alumni, parents, employees and friends — to give back to Linfield students and programs. Since its 2016 start, the university has consistently collected above and beyond its pre-set goal. This year, the Office of Advancement hopes to raise $550,000.
Donations received during One Wild Day will be matched up to $275,000 by the Linfield University Board of Trustees. There will be an information booth on the McMinnville campus, where students and staff will answer questions, showcase donor leaderboards, collect gifts and provide light refreshments throughout the event.
“On One Wild Day, we ask the entire Linfield community to give back, whether that’s $10 or $10,000,” said Joseph Hunter, vice president of university advancement, adding that donors can earmark their gifts for whatever is closest to their heart. “Whether it’s to the Linfield Fund, TopCat Athletics, a specific club or academic program, donors can choose the destination of their gift. Any gift of any size makes a difference in helping Linfield prosper as an institution and continue providing the best resources for current and future students.”
