Founded in 1896, The Linfield Review is one of the oldest college newspapers in the Pacific Northwest. Published online, The Linfield Review reports news to Linfield students, serves as an outlet for student opinion and provides hands-on training and experience in producing journalism.
This is not the first recognition for The Linfield Review and students in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies. Last year, two students — including Johnston — earned prestigious internships through the Charles Snowden Program for Excellence in Journalism. In 2023, The Linfield Review received nine awards from the Pacific Northwest Association of Journalism Educators annual competition.
The Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association (ONPA) is a trade association composed of weekly and daily paid-circulation newspapers serving large cities and small communities across the state. It represents the common interests of Oregon newspapers, to promote the value of newspaper advertising, and to further the public’s understanding that strong newspapers are the cornerstone of a democratic society.
