Linfield University named Oregon’s top-ranking private institution on Research.com’s 2026 Best Value list

Linfield University has earned the highest ranking of any private college on Research.com’s 2026 “Best Value Colleges in Oregon” list, reinforcing the university’s position as one of the best educational investments in the Pacific Northwest.

Research.com’s methodology evaluates colleges on key indicators of value, including tuition and fees, financial aid availability, graduation rates and alumni earnings. Linfield’s strong performance across these measures highlights the university’s commitment to affordability, academic quality and long-term student success.

​​​​​​​While Linfield was listed as No. 6 compared to all Oregon schools, Linfield came in second highest for median alumni salary ($69,076).

A consistent leader in value

This recognition from Research.com adds to a growing list of value-based accolades for Linfield, including:

  • No. 1 Best Value College in Oregon (Niche, 2024–2026)
  • Best Bang for the Buck in the West (Washington Monthly, 2025)
  • 4.5 out of 5 stars and tied for No. 1 in Oregon (Money magazine, 2025) — the third consecutive year Linfield has earned this top rating. Money’s methodology evaluates colleges on quality (30%), affordability (40%), and outcomes (30%), reflecting Linfield’s strong return on investment.
