Linfield University is celebrating another successful #GivingTuesday, having surpassed its one-day goal of $30,000. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, donors, employees and friends, the annual campaign raised more than $58,000 from 117 donors.
These gifts directly support students across the university, including:
- Scholarships and financial assistance.
- Investments in the academic programs within Linfield’s schools and college.
- Programmatic support for Wildcat Athletics.
- Student emergency aid and other high-priority needs.
A key boost came from a $12,000 matching challenge provided by two anonymous alumni from the class of 1988, helping inspire increased participation across key university priorities.
Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, GivingTuesday is a globally recognized annual day of giving. Created in 2012, the movement inspires generosity at the start of the traditional holiday shopping season and encourages individuals to support the causes and organizations that matter most to them.
“Our community once again showed up with tremendous generosity,” said Ellen Braziel, director of annual giving. “#GivingTuesday is a powerful reminder of what Linfield Wildcats can accomplish together. Every gift, no matter the size, directly supports students and strengthens the opportunities that define a Linfield education.”
This year’s results reflect the continued commitment of the Linfield community to championing student success. From scholarships to academics to athletics, each gift helps open doors and expand opportunities for Wildcats today and into the future. Linfield extends its heartfelt gratitude to every donor who contributed to the 2025 #GivingTuesday effort — demonstrating once again the power of a community united in support of its students.
