The Linfield University community came together in a powerful show of support during its annual giving day, raising a record $856,947 to benefit students, programs and campus initiatives.

Fueled by the energy of this year’s Wild for Linfield theme, 627 donors made gifts of all sizes — demonstrating the collective impact of a community united in support of student success. Participation included alumni, parents, students, employees and friends from across the country.

“This is an extraordinary example of what makes Linfield special,” President Mark Blegen said. “Linfield is defined by the strength of its relationships — between students, alumni, faculty, staff and families. On giving day, we see those connections in action, as our community comes together to support students and invest in their futures.”

2026 marks Linfield’s 11th giving day. Last year, giving day brought in more than $739,000. This annual tradition supports scholarships, academic programs, student wellness initiatives and athletics, helping ensure that students have the resources they need to thrive.

“Wild for Linfield really captured the spirit of this year’s giving day,” said Joseph Hunter, vice president for advancement. “We saw incredible energy and engagement from across our community. Each person who made a gift, shared a social post or encouraged others to participate made a difference. Together, their collective generosity strengthens Linfield and expands opportunities for our students.”

Organizers sparked a “wild” response from Linfield donors this year, using a variety of challenges and matching gifts to amplify every contribution. Donors completed 11 challenges, boosting support for programs across the university, including study abroad, scholarships and athletics.

As Linfield celebrates another successful giving day, the momentum continues — fueled by a community that is, truly, Wild for Linfield.
