Biology Professor John Syring and students Leah Rensel ’13 and Rebecca Soderlind ’12 participated in a fossil dig for 12,000-year-old extinct ground sloths.
The dig, and others like it, could eventually solve mysteries surrounding Ice Age mega fauna, such as why the creatures were so large and why they suddenly died out 12,000 to 10,000 years ago.
