“After Hours,” an exhibition of the private work of the McMenamins artists, will be on display Oct. 13 through Nov. 21 at the Linfield College Fine Art Gallery.
For over 20 years, a group of local artists have been lending and amending their styles to suit the walls of a growing cluster of bars, hotels and movie theaters in Oregon and Washington. These people always seem to have a private stash of paintings and other projects they’ve done on their own time, for their own enjoyment. Linfield Gallery has assembled a temporary collection of these works.
The Linfield Gallery will exhibit the paintings, prints, sculptures and mixed media works by Lyle Hehn, a former student of the Linfield Art Department, Jenny Joyce, Cathie Joy Young, Myrna Yoder, Joe Cotter, Olivia Behm, Isaka Shamsud-Din and Kolieha Bush.
A round table discussion with the artists, open to the public, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. in the gallery, followed by a reception from 6-8 p.m. For more information, call 503-883-2804 or visit www.linfield.edu/art/gallery.php.
