Linfield’s Digital Commons archive marks second anniversary

October 3, 2012 by Linfield News Team

By Linfield News Team

This year, visitors from 124 countries and all 50 states visited Linfield’s online research archive, DigitalCommons@Linfield. The repository now preserves more than a thousand scholarly and creative works of Linfield students and faculty. VIDEO

Visitors can learn about new books by Linfield faculty or view the work of students, highlighted in collections such as the Science & Student Collaborative Research and Creative Projects Symposia.

The International Programs Office and Linfield Center for the Northwest have used collections like Field Notes from Abroad and the Oregon Wine History Project to promote experiential learning opportunities.

“By helping to increase the visibility of our scholarship and creative works, DigitalCommons@Linfield promotes Linfield’s academic strength while simultaneously promoting the principles of open access,” says Professor Kathleen Spring, who coordinates the online repository.
