January 18, 2013 by Linfield News Team

By Linfield News Team

Professor Jeff PetersonSociology Professor Jeff Peterson’s essay about his zombie apocalypse class was the featured blog post of the day on Huffington Post College.

In the “Impact of the Zombie Apocalypse on the Pacific Northwest” class, Linfield College students are looking at movies, literature and social theory in which zombies are used as a metaphor for “The Other.”

Peterson directs the Linfield Center for the Northwest. His research and teaching focus on immigration, social movements, and housing issues here and abroad. Peterson has led students on homelessness immersion experiences in Portland, Ore., and taught courses throughout Latin America with Linfield students.
