Portlandia gives nod to former Linfield ASLC president

Michael Newman and Linfield alumni Seth Prickett own The Waypost.Linfield alumnus and philanthropist Seth Prickett ’05 builds schools in Africa when he’s not running a pub with a unique civic bent. Portlandia recently filmed at his trendy North Portland bar.

The Waypost, which Prickett co-owns with founder Michael Newman, is home to legislator get-togethers, historical lectures and classical piano concerts, and has become increasingly hip. So hip that the quirky TV show Portlandia filmed a recent scene there.

At age 22, Prickett began building schools in Ghana, eventually creating the nonprofit Framework International, which raises $30,000 a year for construction.
