Hot Hawaiian Nights rocks the house

May 8, 2013 by Linfield News Team

By Linfield News Team

Hot Hawaiian NightsA crowd of two thousand enjoyed themselves at Hot Hawaiian Nights, a lu’au presented by 100 students and the Linfield College Concert Choir. VIDEO

The choir sang a native Maori song, men stomped and yelled war cries, women danced hulas, and a fire dancer dodged the flames at Linfield’s 41st student-organized lu’au. Students had been rehearsing since February.

Student planners included Amy Bumatai ’13 and Ashley Kimi ’14. The event was sponsored by the Linfield College Student Affairs and Multicultural Offices.

Five percent of Linfield College students are from the Hawaiian Islands.
