Mary Ann RodriguezMary Ann Rodriguez, vice president for administration and finance at California State University in Dominguez Hills, has been named vice president for finance and administration at Linfield College.

“We had a very strong pool of candidates for this position, but Mary Ann rose to the top because of her prior experience as a CFO, her creativity in developing public/private partnerships, and her demonstrated commitment to collaboration and transparency,” according to Thomas L. Hellie, Linfield president. “I think she fits Linfield’s culture well, and I really look forward to working with her.”

As vice president for finance and administration, Rodriguez’s responsibilities will include overseeing the financial management of all components of the college including the McMinnville Campus, the Portland Campus and the Division of Continuing Education. She will also provide leadership and oversight for accounting, human resources, facilities, campus safety, integrated technology, auxiliary services and the bookstore.

Rodriguez, who will assume her duties on Dec. 9, has 28 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration in areas such as finance, budget development and planning, capital planning and other related areas.

At CSU Dominguez Hills, Rodriguez serves as chief financial officer, responsible for all administrative, business and financial operations for the university’s $173 million enterprise. She also serves as executive director of the CSU Dominguez Hills Foundation and is the university liaison for Stub Hub Center (formerly Home Depot Center), a public private partnership. She was a member of the system-wide labor management team for the California State University Employees Union during the last round of negotiations. Prior to her role as CFO, she was associate vice president, serving a total of 11 years at CSU Dominguez Hills. Rodriguez also worked for six years as director of administration in the CSU Chancellor’s Office, where she provided leadership in financial and logistical support services. Before working with the CSU system, she was controller and CFO for the medical systems division of National Computer Systems in Minneapolis, Minn.

Rodriguez holds both a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach and a master of business administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and professional training at the Harvard Institute of Educational Management.

“I am honored to be selected as Linfield’s next vice president for finance and administration,” Rodriguez said. “I am energized by this new opportunity and look forward to joining the Linfield College community.”
