Old playoff adversaries Linfield and Pacific Lutheran have been paired together in Saturday’s first round of the NCAA Division III football playoffs at McMinnville’s Maxwell Field. Kickoff is at noon.
Linfield (9-0) earned its 37th Northwest Conference championship Saturday with a 28-22 victory over Pacific. The Wildcats qualified for the NCAA playoffs for the fifth straight season.
PLU (8-1), whose only defeat of 2013 came in a 29-0 shutout to Linfield, placed second in the NWC with a 5-1 record. The Lutes are making their second straight playoff appearance.
