A new group of Wildcats arrived on campus ready to begin the next phase of their lives.

They concluded their first day with Cat Camp — learning about the traditions and quirks of Linfield. Friday they listened as Stuart Firestein, author of the Linfield common read “Ignorance: How it Drives Science,” presented the keynote address at opening convocation. They also posed for a class photo in the shape of an “L.” Watch the video.
Nearly 70 new students kicked off their Linfield College experiences a week early by taking part in one of three pre-orientation programs. They chose from First CLAS, a service-learning and leadership program; iFOCUS, an interdisciplinary science hands-on laboratory and field experience; and the SOIL Project, which taught students what it means to live sustainably at Linfield and in the McMinnville community. All three programs gave students the opportunity to work with Linfield College faculty and student mentors, connect with fellow participants and settle into campus life before classes began.
