Linfield College student leaders are a diverse bunch. Coming from a variety of hometowns with a wide range of interests and majors, they have joined together to form Linfield’s student government.
Both the McMinnville and Portland Campuses have an Associated Students of Linfield College (ASLC) government group, which includes a cabinet and senate. The cabinet is the executive branch of the government and is made up of two elected officers – the president and vice president – and seven officers appointed by the president and vice president. The cabinet is responsible for planning a variety of programs, representing the student body and advising the senate.
McMinnville ASLC cabinet officers include senior Trey Chiu of Fairbanks, Alaska, president; senior Ivanna Tucker of Portland, vice president; and senior Jessica Nolan of Shoreline, Wash., secretary. The cabinet also includes, senior Calvin Howell of San Antonio, Texas, vice president of business and finance; senior Kacie Copeland of McMinnville, vice president of programming; sophomore Kaitlyn Stratton of Emmett, Idaho, sports director; senior Gabe Wells of Clackamas, club director; senior Olivia Marovich of Portland, publicity director; and senior Isabella Porporato of Santa Cruz, Calif., student center director.
Portland Campus ASLC cabinet officers include senior Amanda Brand of Milwaukie, president; senior Emily Paysinger of Silverton, vice president; and senior Erica Wu of Portland, secretary. The cabinet includes senior Chelsie McConnville of Sisters, vice president of programming; senior Goretti Pham of Beaverton, health and wellness programming chair, senior Sierra Turner of Banks, communication programming chair; senior Emily Bacon of Vancouver, Wash., special events programming chair; junior Nicole Kachel of Albany, community engagement programming chair; and senior Amelia Christy of Mercer Island, Wash., club director.
