The work under way at the Oregon Wine History Archive at Linfield College was showcased recently in an article, “Archiving Oregon,” published in the March edition of the Oregon Wine Press.
Rachael Woody, archivist, and Rich Schmidt, director of resource sharing, at Nicholson Library at Linfield, describe the work of the OWHA, which is capturing the story of the Oregon wine industry.
The Oregon Wine History Archive (OWHA) at Linfield College was founded in 2011 and began with a collection of Willamette Valley wine history, documents and photographs. In their article, Woody and Schmidt discuss the newest ventures of the OWHA to gather a more complete narrative of Oregon wine. By also interviewing and reaching out to grape-growers in the Rogue, Umpqua and Columbia valleys, the OWHA is continuously striving to preserve and share a holistic history of Oregon wine.
