Linfield College students canvassed the community during Linfield’s Taste of Service Day Saturday, Sept. 26.
Students served at various locations such as Miller Woods, McMinnville Co-op, Henderson House, Habitat for Humanity and others. Students conducted manual labor including yard work and moving boxes as well as cleaning up after the Saturday Morning Breakfast at the McMinnville Co-op.
By participating in Taste of Service, students are given the opportunity to strengthen their community as well as discover hidden talents within themselves, which increases their self-worth, according to Hannah Ellsworth, Linfield sophomore and Days of Service coordinator.
“My favorite part of this event is being able to go to the sites and see everyone come together to help organizations that help so many other people every day,” said Ellsworth.
