Linfield College senior Arun Bajracharya will present “Nepal – A Paradise on Earth” on Thursday, March 3, at 4 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall at Linfield.
Bajracharya, originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, will share information about his country including geography, traditions and culture. He will discuss lifestyle, festivals, food and housing, and explain some of the differences between Nepal and the United States. He will also talk about the large gap between the rich and poor, and describe life after the 2015 earthquake.
Bajracharya will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physics with a minor in mathematics in May. During his time at Linfield, he has been involved academically as a teaching and research assistant. He is also the president of the International Club and a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. As a physics major, Bajracharya has traveled to various conferences to present his research and he recently completed a mechanical engineering internship in Vancouver, Wash. Two of his elder brothers graduated from Linfield, Ravi ’04 and Sugat ’08, and inspired him to come to Linfield as well. During his free time, Bajracharya enjoys playing soccer, photography, travelling, hiking and playing the guitar.
The event is free and open to the public and sponsored by the International Programs Office. For more information, contact Michele Tomseth, assistant director of International Programs and January Term off-campus program coordinator, at 503-883-2434 or mtomseth@linfield.edu.
