Some took selfies, others waved to the crowd, one even did pushups – but every Linfield College graduate smiled as they walked across the stage to receive their diploma. Some 639 graduates earned degrees during commencement exercises Sunday, May 29.
Michael Lindblad, the 2015 Oregon Teacher of the Year and a 1994 graduate of Linfield College, delivered the commencement address to the Linfield class of 2016. Golden Grads, individuals who graduated from Linfield 50 or more years ago, also marched in the commencement ceremony.
Margaret Marcuson, an ordained American Baptist minister living and working in Portland, presented the baccalaureate address Saturday, May 28. The ceremony was followed by Grad Finale, during which graduating seniors and their families were honored with toasts.
