For the second time in recent months, a national publication is taking note of Linfield College’s ethnic diversity.
Linfield tied for first among liberal arts colleges in Oregon and Washington on the U.S. News and World Report Best Ethnic Diversity list in the fall. Now, The Chronicle of Higher Education is reporting that Linfield is among the most diverse in the nation when it comes to Hawaiian/Pacific Islander students and students who claim more than one race.
Among 215 similar institutions, The Chronicle’s analysis of federal statistics found Linfield No. 1 nationally in multiracial students and No. 6 in students claiming native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander heritage. The rankings are based on data from fall 2015.
The analysis included baccalaureate colleges in the United States that focus on arts and sciences, both public and private. Read more here (requires a subscription).
