Abigail Sperling, instructor of flute at Linfield College, will present her first faculty recital at Linfield, featuring music from New Zealand, Germany, Italy and France. The recital will be held Thursday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall at the Vivian A. Bull Music Center.
Sperling will play selections including “Te Tangi e te Matui,” “Quartet in d minor” by Ferdinand Ries, “Sonata for flute and piano” by Otar Taktakishvili and the famously challenging “Sequenza” of Luciano Berio. Sperling will be joined by Linfield colleagues Susan McDaniel and Victoria Gunn, as well as guest musicians Heather Mastel-Lipson and Hannah Hillebrand.
