Linfield College’s annual Opera and Musical Theatre Workshop will keep the audience on their toes with performances ranging from Mascagni’s “L’amico Fritz” to a scene from the movie “Shrek.” Linfield will host “From Mozart to Bernstein: Scenes from Operas and Musicals” on Sunday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall on campus. The performance will present a program of fully staged scenes from beloved operas and musicals. Among the operatic offerings, students will perform the quintet from Mozart’s “Magic Flute,” the hilarious sextet from “The Marriage of Figaro” and a duet from Mascagni’s “L’amico Fritz.” The musical theatre selections will include scenes from Bernstein’s “Candide,” Sondheim’s “Company,” Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun,” along with “Shrek,” “Frozen” and “Avenue Q.”
