Linfield College will present “Meditation and Movement,” featuring the Linfield Faculty-Student Chamber Ensemble, on Tuesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall at the Vivian Bull Music Center on campus.
The program will explore the connection between meditation and movement. Dance movements from chamber works by Telemann and Mozart complement contemporary works for voices by Amanda Feery, electronics by Linfield senior Grey Patterson and open ensembles by Pauline Oliveros.
The performance is offered through the Ensemble Education program, giving Linfield students the opportunity to play alongside professional mentor musicians. Students are involved in concert planning, repertoire, rehearsals, performance, publicity and outreach activities.
The performance is free, open to the public and sponsored by the Department of Music. For more information, call 503-883-2275 or visit linfield.edu/arts.
