Noted educational technology author Bryan Alexander will explore the future of higher education in a public lecture at Linfield College.
On Monday, Nov. 5, Alexander will speak on “Apprehending the future in higher education: Fact and fiction.” The talk will be at 7 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall.
Alexander is an internationally known futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant and teacher who studies how technology transforms education. He consults throughout the higher education landscape both in the United States and abroad.
His articles have appeared in The Atlantic and Inside Higher Ed and he has been featured in the Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, National Public Radio, Chronicle of Higher Education and more.
Since 2016, Alexander has convened the monthly Future Trends Forum, an interactive online discussion of trends in education and technology. He teaches at Georgetown University.
He is the author of “Gearing Up For Learning Beyond K-12” and “The New Digital Storytelling.” His forthcoming book is “Transforming the University in the Twenty-First Century: The Next Generation of Higher Education.”
