Linfield students to perform iconic opera scenes in workshop

November 25, 2019 by Ramsey Cox

By Ramsey Cox

Linfield College will present an assortment of scenes from beloved operas and musicals during the Opera Workshop on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in Delkin Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield.

The program includes student performances of the iconic trios from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro  and  Don Giovanni, the playful  Papagena/Papgeno  duet form the Magic Flute, and the beautiful duets from Torroba’s  Luisa Fernanda and Offenbach’s  The Tales of Hoffmann.  All scenes are staged by Anton Belov, professor of music, and accompanied by Anne Britt. Costume design is by Linda Mattson.

The workshop is free, open to the public and sponsored by the Linfield College Department of Music. For more information, call 503-883-2275 or visit linfield.edu/arts.
