McMinnville campus pauses in-person activities through Feb. 2

January 29, 2021 by Kathy Foss

Linfield University banner on campusThis week, Linfield University saw an increase in positive COVID-19 test results among its student population on the McMinnville campus. With an abundance of caution, in order to do everything possible to protect students, faculty and staff, Linfield University is pausing all in-person activities until Wednesday, Feb. 3. This includes in-person classes as well as athletic practices and meetings.

Employees on the McMinnville campus have been encouraged to work remotely on Monday and Tuesday, if possible. Employees should coordinate with their supervisor to assess the feasibility of remote work, as well as the logistics of doing so.

Starting immediately and continuing until at least Wednesday, students are reminded not to remove masks around anybody other than roommate(s) and to avoid visiting any residence hall or off-campus housing in which they don’t live. Any student who willfully violates these or other safety protocols will not be allowed to continue residing on campus or attending in-person courses during the spring semester.

Students living in Hewitt Hall are being asked to quarantine in place until further notice. Specific information about meal pickup and other activities was sent via email from the Dean of Students Office.

This is an evolving situation, and the Linfield community will continue to be updated as additional information becomes available. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to regularly check their Linfield email.  Linfield continues to work closely Yamhill County Public Health and the Oregon Health Authority to monitor the situation.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to send them to covid19ert@linfield.edu. Additional information is also available on Linfield’s Be Wild for our Health webpage.
