Linfield University has hired Keri Jones as the director of student activities. Her first day is Monday, July 19. In this role, she will support student government, fraternity and sorority life, campus events, new student orientation and outdoor programs on the McMinnville campus.
Jones is joining Linfield from Washington State University Vancouver, where she has served as a student engagement specialist since 2019. She previously worked as a graduation mentor at Aloha High School, helping juniors and seniors find success in their academic goals, and coordinator of student activities at Western Oregon.
“I was fundamentally changed, empowered and impacted by my college experience, becoming more confident, organized and socially aware of my voice and power,” Jones said. “I am excited to join the Linfield community and be a part of the student’s transformational journey.”
Jones earned her Master of Education in leadership and policy, with a focus on student affairs, from Portland State University in 2019 and her Bachelor of Education in deaf studies from Western Oregon University in 2014.
“We are excited that Keri will be joining the Student Engagement Team,” Jeff Mackay, dean of students, said. “She will be a great addition to our community.”
Outside of work, you can find Jones at the gym, kayaking, running in 5k races or volunteering in the community. Most recently, she began antiquing and refurbishing furniture.
