Rock violinist Aaron Meyer performs a one-night-only concert, benefiting Linfield University’s Department of Music, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 at Youngberg Hill Winery.

The “Sounds of Summer” event features a collection of songs from Meyer’s latest albums. Although classically trained, Meyer’s repertoire ranges from Mozart to Vivaldi to Queen and Led Zeppelin. He will be joined by keyboardist Jean-Pierre Garau and Daniel Sungmin Park ’22, a Linfield student from McMinnville majoring in music and biochemistry.
General admission tickets are on sale for $25 and available at linfield.edu/sounds-of-summer. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to Linfield’s Department of Music for instructional support and performance equipment. All seats are lawn seating, and guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets for their comfort.
“This annual event is becoming a great tradition that brings the community together and marks the beginning of the school year for us,” said Anna Song, chair of the Department of Music. “We are so grateful for this support for music and students at Linfield.”
A selection of sandwiches and pizzas can be purchased in advance online from The Wandering Vine Café. Wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold on-site. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed.
The event is sponsored by Bernards, CPA, Youngberg Hill Winery, Dave Franey Electric, and Lum’s Buick GMC Cadillac.
