In her latest essay collection, “The Witch of Eye,” essayist and poet Kathryn Nuernberger deconstructs the myths of witches and how their “trials” were repeated throughout history to the present day.
At 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, Nuernberger will be reading from and discussing her work as part of Linfield University‘s free Readings at the Nick. Readings are held in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library Austin Reading Room on the McMinnville campus. Face masks are required inside all Linfield buildings.
Nuernberger writes about the history of science and ideas, renegade women, plant medicines, and witches. She is the author of the poetry collections, “RUE,” “The End of Pink,” and “Rag & Bone,” as well as a collection of lyric essays, “Brief Interviews with the Romantic Past.” Her awards include the James Laughlin Prize from the Academy of American Poets, an NEA fellowship, and notable essays in the Best American series. She teaches poetry and nonfiction for the MFA program at University of Minnesota.
Readings at the Nick is sponsored by the Linfield University Libraries and the Department of English. For more information, contact Ginny Blackson at gblackson@linfield.edu.
