Submissions for Linfield’s 30th annual Student Symposium will be accepted starting Monday, April 4. The event, which celebrates the creative and scholarly work of Linfield students, is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2022 on the Linfield University McMinnville Campus. The work ranges from student performances to short films, to research in the social and behavioral sciences, the natural sciences and the humanities.
Students can submit their proposals via DigitalCommons@Linfield.
TO SUBMIT
The Symposium submission form can be found at the following link:
http://digitalcommons.linfield.edu/symposium.
- Click “Submit Event” in the purple sidebar on the left.
- If a student has not submitted to the Symposium previously, an account will need to created first. Please supply all required information according to the instructions on the form.
- Students must submit the entry form themselves; faculty members may not do this on behalf of the student.
- Students are welcome to submit more than one presentation, provided they have a faculty sponsor for each; please email symposium@linfield.edu to coordinate multiple presentations.
- Multiple students working on a joint presentation should each submit a form (individual permission is required for posting the work on DigitalCommons)
- If more than one student is presenting a work, click the green + button under the “Author Information” section and enter the required information for each author. This does not replace submitting a form.
- Following submission, students will receive a confirmation email.
Please note:
- English Department Honors presentations will be scheduled in coordination with the English department.
- Music performances will be scheduled in coordination with the Music department.
- Each submission form must be completed in its entirety.
- If a student submits two separate presentations, timing will be coordinated with the student and both faculty sponsors.
- Contact symposium@linfield.edu to discuss accommodations for students not located on the McMinnville campus.
In 2021, the symposium was held virtually and featured 55 presentations from 15 different departments and disciplines. This year’s in-person event is open to Linfield’s entire community: students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends.
The Student Symposium is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and the Wendell L. Foote Science Endowment.
Questions should be emailed to symposium@linfield.edu or Emily Kyzer at ekyzer@linfield.edu.
