Linfield University will celebrate its Class of 2022 May 27-29Linfield University celebrates its Class of 2022 with Commencement and other celebratory events May 27-29 on the McMinnville campus.

Linfield’s university-wide Commencement will be an in-person event at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 29 on the McMinnville campus. The ceremony will be held in the Oak Grove in front of Melrose Hall. Receptions for the graduates and families will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. Linfield’s Pinning Ceremony, where graduates from the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing receive their university pins, is at 3 p.m. in the Oak Grove. In case of inclement weather, both ceremonies will be moved to Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

Commencement and the Pinning Ceremony will be streamed on the Linfield University YouTube channel.

Rukaiyah Adams, chief investment officer at Meyer Memorial Trust and former chair of the Oregon Investment Council, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Commencement.  Before joining Meyer, Adams ran the $6.5 billion capital markets fund at The Standard, a publicly traded insurance and financial services company. She serves on the boards of directors of Albina Vision Trust, Self Enhancement Inc. Foundation, Oregon Public Broadcasting and Oregon Health and Science University, as well as sitting on Oregon’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission. Her 2016 Ted Talk — A Homegirl’s Guide to Being Powerful — about her path to becoming a more thoughtful investor and the role of investment capital in achieving social justice, has been viewed online more than 10,000 times.

In addition to traditional commencement ceremonies, the public is invited to two other events celebrating graduates:

  • Senior Awards, recognizing graduates receiving departmental honors, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28 in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium inside Melrose Hall.

Smaller invite-only events will honor Black, Latino, Asian Pacific Islanders and LGBTQ+ graduates, and those that participated in Wildcat Athletics.

At this time, neither masks nor proof of vaccination are required to attend commencement-related activities. The most up-to-date information on Linfield’s COVID-19 protocols are online at linfield.edu/covid.

More information about Linfield’s commencement activities is available at linfield.edu/commencement.
