Linfield University is the No. 1 liberal arts college or university in Oregon, according to Washington Monthly’s 2022 College Guide and Rankings.
Linfield skyrocketed into the top 100 top liberal arts colleges in the country – coming in at No. 66 – after being ranked 112th in 2021.
Washington Monthly ranks four-year schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service. The full rankings can be found at washingtonmonthly.com/2022-college-guide/.
Linfield earned high marks for its graduate earnings, listed among the top 10 in the United States (No. 7), and for social mobility of its students.
Linfield was also included in Washington Monthly’s 2022 Best Bang for the Buck in the West. This specialized list ranks schools according to “how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”
Washington Monthly isn’t the only national publication recognizing Linfield’s excellence in the region. The Princeton Review recently included Linfield University on its “2023 Best Colleges: Region by Region” list for the West. The Princeton Review includes schools based on the quality of their academics.
