“This honor reflects Linfield’s longstanding commitment to online education for current and prospective students,” said Beth Concepción, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “Linfield has 50 years of history in distance and online education. The Online and Continuing Education (OCE) program has helped thousands of students in Oregon and around the country achieve their educational goals. Whether they are seeking to begin or complete their degree, professionals expanding their knowledge base or K-12 educators earning endorsements, we are here to serve them.”

The annual report evaluates schools based on engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and expert opinion when deciding the online program rankings. Other recognized Oregon universities include Oregon State University (No. 4); Oregon Health and Science University (No. 60); and Portland State University (No. 187).

Linfield University has nearly half a century of expertise in distance education. Its Division of Continuing Education, the precursor to today’s online education, was founded in 1975 and helped thousands of adults in the Pacific Northwest begin or complete their degrees. What began almost 50 years ago as partnerships with community colleges for transfer students now includes multiple majors and degree options.

Some of the most popular OCE undergraduate majors at Linfield are accounting, international business, management, marketing, nursing and project management.  Linfield also offers nine certificates, including human resource management, wine management, project management and wine marketing. For K-12 educators, Linfield offers 14 endorsements, including ESOL (English as a second language), special education and foundational topics such as advanced math, biology, health, Spanish and more.

Online classes for the next term begin Feb. 12, and registration is open through Feb. 23. For more information, contact Linfield’s Office of Admissions at 503-883-2346 or visit www.linfield.edu/oce.
