Annual Christmas concert at Linfield features holiday music

Linfield College will host the annual Christmas concert featuring holiday music and traditional carols. The Linfield Concert Choir, Women’s Vocal Ensemble and Wildcat Men’s Glee Club will perform in “Snow: A Christmas Concert” on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall.

The concert will feature the arrangements by Victoria, Elgar, Bach and Vaughan Williams. Additionally, carols and “Snow (The King’s Trumpeter)” by Seattle-based composer John Muehleisen will be performed.

Anna Song, assistant professor of music and choral director, received her bachelor’s in composition from UCLA and her master’s in conducting from the School of Music and the Institution of Sacred Music at Yale University. She has directed choirs and taught music in the Portland area since 2001, and teaches music education, vocal ensemble, ear training and sight singing, and understanding music at Linfield.
