Putting Oregon wine on the map: Archives looks at the Burgundy Challenge

Stephen Cary, Yamhill Valley VineyardsIn 1985, Oregon’s wine industry took a big step forward when it took on wines from Burgundy, France in a blind taste test. The Oregon Wine History Archive at Linfield College looks at this little-known event and what it has meant for the Oregon wine industry. Archives staff recently sat down with Stephen Cary, now the winemaker at Yamhill Valley Vineyards, who issued the challenge to Burgundy 30 years ago.
