The Linfield College Department of Music will host a spring chamber music recital Thursday, May 14, at 4 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center.
The recital will feature several chamber music ensembles made up of Linfield students and faculty. Groups include a viola duo, viola quartet, string trio, duo for soprano saxophone and trumpet, cello trio, cello quartet and chamber music with piano. The performances will feature pieces by composers including Henry Purcell, Wilhem Friedemann Bach, Franz Josef Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Olivier Messiaen and Eicca Toppinen.
Chamber music gives performers the opportunity to play one person per part and encourages communication between players.
