Climate change focus of Oregonian opinion piece

Jim Diamond, professor of chemistryTop problems facing humanity – among them, energy, water, food, environment and poverty – are exacerbated by climate change, according to a recent opinion piece by Jim Diamond, Linfield College professor of chemistry, in the Oregonian.

Diamond leads a course aimed at students majoring in areas outside the sciences, teaching them about stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming. His research includes molecular modeling, ab initio calculations of electronic structure problems, and fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics. He has been a professor at Linfield since 1991.
