Linfield University is hosting a College Goal Oregon (CGO) open house to help college-bound students and their families complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)®, learn more about the college application process and get insight into winning scholarships.
Designed for high school seniors, current students and adults interested in college, attendees can come any time during the event, which runs 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library, 900 SE Baker St. on Linfield’s McMinnville campus. Gerardo Ochoa, vice president for enrollment and student success and coauthor of the college planning guide book Path to Scholarships®, will speak about the components of a winning scholarship essay at 5 and 6 p.m. Director of Admission Lisa Knodle-Bragiel will explain Linfield’s application and admission processes at 5 and 6 p.m. Assistance with FAFSA and ORSAA forms is available in both English and Spanish.
Linfield’s event is part of a statewide initiative to demystify the college financial aid process and is one of 53 events being held throughout Oregon. Filling out FAFSA and/or ORSAA applications not only determines if the student is eligible for federal financial aid, but is strongly recommended by nearly all college admission offices.
