Linfield hosts Cycle Oregon Weekender

Cycle Oregon Bike BashMore than 2,000 cyclists will embark on rides from Linfield College when Cycle Oregon hosts its annual Weekender at Linfield’s McMinnville campus July 7-9.

This is the second time the event has been held at Linfield. It is a companion to the popular Cycle Oregon week-long ride held in September. The weekend features two days of riding, live music, a beer and wine garden, provided meals and a kids camp.

Riders can choose from short, medium or long routes starting at Linfield and winding through Oregon wine country. On Saturday, July 8, participants will “Ride Like a Wildcat” along the South Yamhill River. All routes will ride the first seven miles together. After that, the short-route riders will take a shortcut back to campus, while the medium- and long-route riders bike to Sheridan, before heading back to Linfield to take part in fun activities and celebration.

On Sunday, July 9, riders will enjoy “Wine and Wings” as routes take them past multiple vineyards and the Evergreen Aviation Complex. All riders will start the day heading east. The medium route will take a trip through Amity, while the long route enjoys views of wineries and historic towns. Linfield will welcome riders back to campus with live music to celebrate the weekend’s rides.

Participants can camp under the stars, stay in residence halls or park an RV in one of the designated parking lots at Linfield. Learn more about Cycle Oregon Weekender. Adults are $199, youth 7-17 are $99, and youth 6 and under are free.
