Linfield University‘s Department of Music and dance program will host the annual Spring Dance Showcase with performances May 6 and 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. each night.
Dancers will perform in a range of styles, including tap, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, jazz and folklorico. Tickets are $10 and available at the door of the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall on Linfield’s McMinnville campus. K-12 students and university students with an ID get in free.
Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test are required for entry.
“I am so proud of the work and commitment our Linfield dancers have put into their dancing as well as their choreography,” said Sarah Shouse, a Linfield dance professor and the showcase director. “We hope that when you view our performance you experience the overwhelming sense of joy that dance can provide you.”
To enrich the experience for performers and the audience, Shouse invited several groups outside the Linfield dance program to participate in this year’s showcase. As a result, LatinX Adelante (LULA), LULA Folklorico dancers and dancers from Oregon State University dancers are joining the Linfield Dance Ensemble for the performances. Together, all the participants have worked tirelessly to create a program that is as inclusive as it is captivating.
To reach Ford Hall from Hwy. 99W in south McMinnville, turn east on Keck Drive at Albertsons. Take Keck Drive to Lever Street and turn right. Take the next immediate right at Ford Drive into the theatre parking lot. Ford Hall is located at the west end of the parking lot.

Proof of Vaccination
Due to the intimate performance space of the Marshall Theatre, all audience members (including Linfield faculty, staff and students) will be required to provide proof of vaccination (including booster shots for those over the age of 12), along with valid photo identification at the time of entry. Audience members unable to be vaccinated will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to the performance or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to the performance. Individuals who are unable to or decline to provide the documentation required above will not be admitted.
