Students returning for fall semester were welcomed with three new dining options on the Linfield University McMinnville Campus.
“Thanks to our students’ feedback and the amazing support from our Linfield executives, we developed a goal to increase students’ satisfaction while providing innovation and convenience for our 2024-25 school year,” said Javier Lopez, the Linfield Dining Services general manager.
This feedback resulted in new retail locations for students who want to eat after Dillin Hall closes at 8 p.m.
At subhub, students can enjoy a quick and easy meal until 11 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Menu options at the walk-up window include built-to-order 6” and 12” sandwiches, including a BLT, Italian, turkey or tuna sub, among others. Orders for Subhub can be placed online with Sodexo’s Everyday App, available in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
Another new option is the 24/7 Mack’s Marcat, a student self-checkout micro-market on the west side of Dillin Hall. Here, students can find salads, drinks, snacks and pre-made sandwiches. This grab-and-go option is great for students who may be short on time or needing a late-night snack.
In addition, the just baked Smart Bistro, an elevated vending machine available 24/7, is available in Riley Campus Center. It serves a rotating variety of cooked-to-order hot foods, such as White Castle sliders, breakfast sandwiches, baos and other options. It’s quick, too! Within a couple of minutes of ordering through the Everyday App, a hot meal is ready for pickup in the heart of campus.
“We have already received many positive comments, from both new and returning students, about the many great dining options available this year,” Lopez said. “Students are ecstatic about the delicious Molten Double Chocolate Lava Cake at the new Just Baked Smart Bistro machine on the first floor of Riley Campus Center.”
All of the new dining options accept debit and credit cards and or payment via flex dollars.
Over the summer, Linfield’s existing dining facilities received updates. Wildcat Express now offers poke bowls, a remodeled Starbucks serves customers more quickly and Dillin Hall refreshed its sections to better incorporate fresh ingredients and healthy options. Dillin Hall now features:
- Twist: pasta
- Stacked: self-service deli
- Spoonful: sticky rice and rotating soups
- Slices: pizza and gluten-free pizza
- Simple Servings: dishes prepared without milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts and gluten
- Savory: classic comfort dishes
- Grown: plant-based and vegetarian dishes
- Bliss: desserts
- Showcase: new, made-to-order entrees
- Salad bar
For McMinnville campus students, college dining just got an upgrade. There’s no need to leave campus to find the perfect late-night snack anymore. But, hang tight, Wildcats … there may be more coming.
“There might be a couple other surprises before the end of the school year,” Lopez said. “Stay tuned!”
