The spectrum of emotions between love and hate is the emphasis of an anthropology exhibit curated by Linfield College students.
The exhibit, “Unreasonably Human: Material Expressions of Love and Hate,” will run throughout the summer in the Linfield Anthropology Museum (LAM), located in the Walker Hall lobby. It opened with a ceremony Thursday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit was coordinated by students in Anthropology 355: Museums, Exhibiting Culture, under the guidance of Leslie Walker, LAM coordinator and instructor of anthropology.
This exhibit examines how the spectrum of emotions between love and hate are expressed through practice, material objects and visual representations. It also explores the ways in which humans act and engage with the material world in seemingly irrational or unreasonable ways. The exhibit takes an anthropological look at the role that strong emotions play in actions and the construction of the material world.
