The work of 11 students at Linfield University will be on display in the Linfield Galleryand Nils Lou Gallery May 11 through 29.
Titled “Exodus,” the exhibit features the thesis and portfolios of studio art and digital arts majors graduating later this month. The show represents the end of this chapter in the students’ lives as they leave Linfield and embark on the next part of their journey, an “exodus” of sorts. A reception for the artists is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 in the gallery on the McMinnville campus. Light refreshments will be provided.
“These artists reveal diverse strategies for how to be an artist such as constructing identity, confronting trauma, considering adulthood, composing forms with grace and contemplating beauty in unexpected places,” said Brian Winkenweder, chair of the Linfield Department of Art.
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery will also be open Sunday, May 29 from noon to 4 p.m.
Featured artists in the exhibit are Krysten Baryo, Jordan Black, Zoe Braun, Courtney Hassell, Stephanie Juanillo, Elliott Montbriand, Mitchell Morrison, Meghan Mullaly, LainaReichelderfer, Erin Shepard and Gwen Weber. The exhibit is sponsored by the Department of Art at Linfield University.
