Fergueson named NACA vice chair of programs

Dan FerguesonDan Fergueson, director of college activities at Linfield College, has been named vice chair for programs for the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) board of directors.

Fergueson has been active with the NACA, having previously served as a general member to the board of directors and block booking coordinator at the national level. At the regional level, Fergueson has served as NACA West Region showcase selection coordinator, regional coordinator/regional conference program coordinator, regional business manager and block booking coordinator.

Fergueson has also received several awards during his time with the NACA, including the NACA West Region’s Peggy Horgan Award for Outstanding Regional Volunteer in 2007 and the Shelly K. Bannish Award for Outstanding Staff Advisor in 2011. At Linfield, he earned the Linfield College Senate Outstanding Service Award for 2003-04 and has served on numerous planning and advisory committees. He currently serves on the administrators compensation committee.

Fergueson, who has worked in student activities at Linfield for 15 years, previously served as coordinator of student activities at Shawnee State University in Ohio. He holds a bachelor’s in biology from Albion College and a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Western Washington University.

Established in 1960, the NACA offers a variety of events, educational institutes, publications and networking opportunities for colleges and universities across the country. The association’s programs focus on program planning, risk management, multicultural education, concert management, student and professional leadership development, student government and more.
