Linfield College students will volunteer their time to better the McMinnville community during Global Youth Service Day on Saturday, April 26.
More than 100 Linfield community members will work at several local projects including McMinnville Community Garden, Greater Yamhill Watershed, Linfield Cozine, Barbara Boyer Farms, Co-op Ministries, Miller Woods, Vineyard Heights and Newberg Headstart.
Global Youth Service Day is an annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes youth to improve their community. The celebration was established in 1988 and is the largest service event in the world, celebrated in over 100 countries. This event gives youth the power to focus on the world’s most critical issues and move towards improvement. Global Youth Service Day will highlight the role that youth play in their communities around the world and address the current needs of our local community through various done-in-a-day service projects that focus on sustainability.
