The event takes place on the Linfield University Portland Campus and will be livestreamed on the Linfield University YouTube channel. Tickets are required for on-campus attendees.

A total of 70 graduates will be recognized, including students completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, those finishing the RN to BSN program and the university’s first Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) graduates.

“This week’s hooding and pinning ceremony  is notably special for three reasons,” said Kimberly Dupree Jones, dean of the School of Nursing. “It is the first time we have been able to have an in-person ceremony since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic; secondly, it is the first time we are able to hold such a ceremony on our own beautiful campus, and thirdly, we are making history today by hooding the first graduates of Linfield’s Master of Science in Nursing degree.”

The MSN in leadership in healthcare ecosystems welcomed its inaugural cohort in September 2020. The online program draws on economics, environmental, social and health sciences to address current and future challenges to healthcare delivery. The MSN marked Linfield’s return to graduate-level programs after a nearly 30-year hiatus.

Invited attendees should be aware of Linfield’s current security and pandemic policies. Face coverings are required for all guests and unvaccinated members of the Linfield community at the in-person event when 6 feet of distance cannot be maintained. Vaccinated Linfield students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings. Face coverings are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, when inside all Linfield-owned buildings. All members of the community are encouraged to stay at home if they feel unwell and to wash their hands frequently.

Additional information about the event can be found at linfield.edu/commencement.
