Linder weighs in on effects of violent television on girls

Jennifer Linder, professor of psychologyJennifer Ruh Linder, professor of psychology at Linfield College, was recently featured in an article about the effects of violent television.

In the article, Linder discusses two of her research projects on viewing habits. One of her studies analyzed the viewing habits and preferences of fifth-grade girls. Linder found that the girls who watched television shows that contained relational aggression that was rewarded, tended to also display that kind of behavior. In the article, Linder also discusses her research on how different kinds of movie clips, aggressive and nonaggressive, affect female college students.
