2016 Alumni Award winnersFive Linfield College alumni and friends will be honored for their hard work, innovation and generosity by the Linfield Alumni Association during Homecoming weekend.

Linfield’s 2016 award recipients include Floyd McKay ‘57, distinguished alumnus; Pete Dengenis ‘64, alumni service award; Kerry Nordstorm ‘10, outstanding young alumna; and David and Jeanne Beck, Walker service award. Learn more about them here.

Two recipients will give talks on Friday, Sept. 30, in 222 T.J. Day Hall. Nordstrom-Bradley will present “Living on the Edge: Counseling on the Bering Sea” at 3 p.m. She will discuss her experience as a school counselor in Scammon Bay, a bush village in Alaska, and how her Linfield career brought her to where she is today. At 4 p.m., McKay will discuss his time as an Oregon reporter and journalist. He is the author of “Reporting the Oregon Story: How Activists and Visionaries Transformed the State.”

Dengenis has continued to remain active in the Linfield community, contributing to many projects including the Durham Monument. The Becks, co-owners of the Crawford-Beck Winery in Amity, generously allow Linfield staff and students to use the property as an outdoor classroom.

These individuals will be recognized at Linfield’s Finest, Friday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the McMinnville Ballroom. Find out more about Linfield’s Homecoming celebration, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
