Linfield College ChoirThree Linfield College vocal groups, along with the Chaplain’s Office, will present “Seasonal Celebration of Music and Light” on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield.

A reception will follow in the Fred Meyer Lounge in Riley Hall.

The evening will include seasonal choral music and sacred readings celebrating various holiday traditions of light read in multiple world languages. The Wildcat Men’s Glee Club, Women’s Vocal Ensemble and the Linfield Concert Choir will perform music by Josquin, Parry, Paert, and popular Christmas songs including “Mary, Did You Know,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Silent Night,” and a choral version of music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. The choral groups are led by Anna Song, associate professor of music and director of choral activities.

Along with choral performances, sacred readings in multiple world languages will be coordinated by Chaplain David Massey.

The performance is free, open to the public, and sponsored by the Linfield College Department of Music and Chaplain’s Office. For more information, call the Linfield Department of Music at 503-883-2275 or visit linfield.edu/arts.
